Spiritual Thirst
If you are Spiritually thirsty, what do you quench that thirst with?
In John 4:1-26 we read the story of the Samaritan woman’s encounter with Jesus who gives the living water.
Sometimes we feel that something is missing in our lives, but why is it? Don’t we feel that way because we use the wrong things to fill that void. There are two kinds of thirst, a physical thirst that you quench with water and then the very important thirst….our Spiritual thirst. It’s very important what you use to quench it with. Do you use worldly things such as alcohol, drugs, porrnography etc. If you rely on worldly things, you will get discouraged because those are temporary stuff.
On the other hand, if we choose to quench our Spiritual thirst with Spiritual things, God promises us that we will never ever get thirsty again. The guideline to those basic Spiritual things for us to use, God gave us in Matteus 5;6 and 7 in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.
