Servant Leadership

Dear Lord please forgive us for not being humble as U expect of us. We tend to forget that U set the perfect example. Amen

 To be a true leader you must be able to follow, and Jesus Christ gave us the perfect model of how it’s done. When Jesus taught on leadership, He always personified it to us as a humble service to others. He even washed His disciple’s feed. Are u willing to do that?

Jesus came from heaven to serve His mission to be the Messiah (and fulfil His Fathers will), and by serving He also led those He recruited (you and me included) to carry out the mission as expected by His Father and that is to preach the gospel to the far corners.

Allow me to share an image and be patient about why I share it: if there’s a fire burning and you take a coal from the fire and put it aside all alone, what happens to it? It dies! We as servant leaders which is also servant followers never works alone. Remember the Holy Spirit through whoever He wants, through whatever gift He wants and in His perfect timing (1 Cor 12:11). Therefore, just be an open channel for the Spirit to work through you. The reason I shared that image is that we must realize that we are all part of the body of Christ and if you try to do this whole leadership thing on your own, you’ll die.

God called us all to be part of His flock. Over each flock God appointed a shepherd who is that flock’s leader. I want to emphasize again that no one can lead if he/she can’t follow. Therefore, all true leaders in God’s Kingdom are servant leaders, and every servant leader needs a team. To great a team around him (remember the team work together to spread God’s gospel. A team is normally is created by creating a feeling of togetherness. True leaders will equip their team members with the necessary authority and the ability to feel God’s presence and also the ability to distinguish between good and bad. A true leader also take responsibility for his team’s mission and also are a mentor for them.  

I want you to get a team player on such a team. Get involve so that you can into the servant leader God wants you to be.
